Funtrak Fact File

Funtrak Limited – who are they then?

Having fun with track laying vehicles, that's what we're all about. And we want you to have as much fun with our products as we have developing them.

The folk at Funtrak Limited are a committed team of engineers, designers and enthusiasts who aim for realism in construction and operation, but add a dash of fun to make products you'll love, and we mean REALLY love.

Our flagship product, The Funtrak Paintball Panzer, is realisation of a personal goal for our Technical Director Phil Parsons. With a background in the British Armed Forces, Phil had already developed a one-man disposable aircraft for Special Forces use and wanted to turn his attention to a one-man tank. Not so simple a task as it might first appear, but the reality is beyond what even he had hoped for.

After the experimental chassis was fully tested, the addition of the custom designed GRP tank shell - with its front-mounted, angle-adjustable cannon and distinctive flash-hider - took what was already a phenomenal form of personal transport and injected the vital element that is the trademark of Funtrak vehicles. Fun.

It's serious fun though. We added a roll cage and an engine firewall to afford the kind of safeguards you wouldn't normally find in conventional leisure vehicles, even though, head-on, you'd need to tackle an incline of over 60° to roll one of these!

But there's more. Within the Funtrak-styled cannon you can specify that we fit a Paintball Firing Mechanism or a Water Cannon ("Water Warrior" Edition) - each option has it's own additional cost attached, so choose your weapon's wisely!

All Funtrak vehicles are build specially to order – and the order book is growing fast.

Since you always have more fun with a friend, Corporate Activity Sites, Paintball Centres and other large venues will be pleased to learn that there is a price break at two vehicles and every forth vehicle ordered after that.

The Funtrak Panzer Mk 10

Formerly known as the "Paintball Panzer", the Mk 10 version of the Funtrak Panzer tends to find itself used for the shear fun of driving a tracked vehicle as much as heading up a task force of painball warriors. That's not to say that it can't be equipped with a painball gun - and many other weapons and gadgets besides (you can check out our "Weapons" page for more info) - but rather that many of our clients have found that the Funtrak Panzer itself is just great fun to drive.

The all-new "Scarab" shell means our mini-tanks look just like the real thing! You can order them in any colour-scheme you like or choose from our standard set of camouflage designs, created to look like those used by real armies around the world. Choose the right combination of camouflage and setting and you'll be lucky to see them at all! Additional decals and symbols are available on request.

The turret is removable, so smaller folk and children can still see out, and can be clipped back on in time for the next driver to climb aboard.

Once inside operating the controls couldn't be simpler. The site owner starts the engine from the outside (selecting from the two engine speeds depending on the driver's age and ability) and teh driver pushes the right stick to drive the right track and the left stick to drive the left. Just push the sticks forwards to go forwards and backwards to reverse.

It may be simple to operate, but the fun doesn't stop until you get out. Unlike quad bikes and karts speed is not the main attraction, although they do shoot around at a fair lick, but being able to stop and turn on the spot and tackle obstacles like they're no problem means you'll be able to take water, steps, logs - whatever the track designer puts in your way - in your stride.

Site owners can customise the specification of their mini-tanks with a wide selection of devices including: remote control engine cut-out, radio communications helmets, paintball guns, laser weapons and a selection of sirens, strobe beacons and smoke bombs to indicate when your tank has been hit!

Our customers are building specialist tracks, integrating our mini-tanks into their existing sites and even putting unused land to work - it's a great way for farmers to diversify!

The possiblities are endless. What will you do with yours?
